I have never been very close to my grandma before - sure, she looked after me when I was little, taking me out to play, preparing my meals, knitting me warm winter clothes - the usual grandma daughter relationship.

 

However, she has never shared her past with me before. Her views on life, her regrets, her cherished moments - all these I have never known.

 

And so through this film task, I was able to learn more about her then I would have ever been able to. She shared with me some intimate moments, thoughts, beliefs. I was able to share a closer bond with her - and through doing so, have come to admire the person she has become today.

 

I admire her strength in life. That no matter what comes at her - how tough the troubles she faces can be; she is able walk by it all - each step taken with a strong heart and a warm smile.
